We have been using Wimba Voice for some years now to support our Hebrew language courses, so Wimba Classroom was a natural candidate for real-time communication in a virtual classroom, something that added a genuine human feel to our Blackboard environment. AMDG has been using Wimba Classroom for the past year for its online High School Virtual School and has found it to be a vast improvement over our previous chat room software. Now our students are able to utilize 2-way voice audio and to speak to their teachers in real-time environment. Students are keen to use Wimba. It allows students in other countries to undertake a PhD at the University of Salford in our 6*-rated school that would otherwise be unable to do this. Tutorials, seminars, and conferences are all being undertaken online.
