Why is Wimba Create better than Save-as-Webpage in Word? The "Save as Web Page" option in Word produces very dense Microsoft-specific HTML code that often needs to be cleaned up and simplified using Dreamweaver or other special utilities. Wimba Create bypasses this completely and generates simple, clean XML and HTML code that is validated against W3C standards. It is this clean XML that is transformed into your chosen output format.
Most importantly, non-technical authors can create materials that are SCORM compliant - Word will struggle with this - let alone allow authoring in only 15 minutes.
Why not make content directly into your CMS/VLE?
Most CMS's/VLE's do not allow Word documents to be viewed. By converting Word to HTML, faculty can post all their content within their online courses.
